Welcome Back!

Welcome to the 2012-2013 school year. We hope you had wonderful restful and rejuvenating summer break. We would like to welcome all of our returning families with a special greeting to those families who are joining Manatee Bay for the first time. Please take time to read and familiarize yourself and your child with our class and school handbooks. They can be found in your child’s agenda. If you have not done so, please return all school forms (in the yellow envelope), no later than, Aug. 31.

The first few weeks of school, we will be building community within our classroom by working on some community building activities, so that we can get to know each other. We will review school-wide rules, expectations, and procedures with the students.

The Beginning of the School Year is such a busy time in 3rd grade. Students will be
administered several pre-assessments that will help us determine their current levels in
writing, reading, and math. We will then plan differentiated instruction for individual students based on their needs.

Homework
Please check and sign your child's agenda daily.  School-Home communication is very important to us and the agenda provides this daily connection we need to effectively work together towards the success of your child's academic life.

Please review homework policy located in your child's agenda and on the Homework TAB on this blog.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact your child's teacher.
