April/May Events

Hopefully you and your family had an enjoyable Spring Break and were able to be outside in the BEAUTIFUL weather! A little sunshine does wonders for everyone!

Now that 4th quarter is upon us the remainder of the year usually flies by! The kids have spring fever and the teachers are working feverishly to prepare for state testing. Below are some upcoming events and helpful information:

March Events

March has been a very productive month for our third graders. The students had a wonderful time on our field trip. They learned so many new facts and interesting information. We have been reviewing the math and reading skills that the students will need in order to succeed on the FCAT. Some of the reading skills are main idea, author’s purpose, reference and research, as well as, cause/effect and compare/contrast. In math, the students

have enjoyed working on multiplication, division, geometry, fractions, data, measurement and of course our favorite, word problems. As you can see, we have been busy, busy, busy! We are so proud of the effort the students have put forth and we know that they will do their personal best. We wish everybody a very restful Spring Break.

February Events

Third Grade has been busy learning many reading skills  such as compare and contrast, cause and effect, inferencing and main idea.  In math, we have been challenged with fractions and polygons.  We are looking forward to Valentine’s Day card exchanges and learning about President’s Day.  Our classes will have two more exciting field trips to the theater, Buehler Planetarium and Flamingo Gardens!

January Events: Happy New Year

Happy New Year to you all!!!  Wishing everyone a healthy and peaceful beginning to a new year.  Second quarter is coming to an end and we would like to take this opportunity to thank you for taking the time and interest to remain involved in your child's education.  As educators,  we believe that learning truly is a cooperative endeavor between the school and home.

Attendance is very IMPORTANT!  Please make sure that your child comes to school every day  on time during testing.  No volunteers during testing hours.  

November Events

Manatee Bay's Scholastic Book fair is coming up...very soon!!!
Please come out on Nov. 5th for our Annual Scholastic Book Fair Family Night from 6 to 8pm.  There will be fun for the whole family...and the best part is that you get to purchase AMAZING books.   (Don't forget to check your child's teacher's WISH LIST! Need help finding the wish list...ask one of our Amazing PTA volunteers!)

Book Fair runs November 5th-9th.

The Third Grade team would like for you to please purchase Charlotte's Web for your 3rd Grader. You can purchase it at the Book Fair or ask your child's teacher for the Parent Code that allows you to purchase books online at scholastic.com.
