February 2015

Hello Third Grade Families – We’ve had a busy, fun and exciting month.  Third grade field day was a huge success.  The kids had a blast!  Thank you to all of the parents who participated in this amazing event.  We had a great time at on our field trip to the Museum of Discovery and Science. We saw the IMAX 3D movie Tiny Giants.  The students watched a special live science presentation on Matter.  They loved watching the presenter work with liquid nitrogen and fire!  Loud cheers were heard throughout the museum's theater.   We were able to tour the current exhibits on display including some of the museum’s rides.  I know that it was a memorable trip for all students that attended.

Testing, testing, testing!  That is the word on everyone’s mind.  We are working hard to help prepare your children for the FSA testing that begins the week of March 30th.  To help better prepare your child, please have your student complete i-ready reading and math lessons at home daily.  Read with your child.  Practice telling time and ask questions with elapsed time.  Make sure that your child has mastered all of their times tables.

We will continue to work very hard in preparation of the upcoming FSA testing.  Thank you so much for all of your continued support in your child's education.

We are looking forward to a relaxing holiday break. It is great to have some time to spend with  our families and friends. We know how important our families are and want to thank all of our wonderful parents for their dedication to their children’s education. We appreciate all that you do and your constant support.

October 2014

What  an amazing beginning to the start of the new year. Our third graders have been adjusting to an increased level of independence. October is the month of responsibility. All of our third graders are expected to take the tools that have been given to them over the past two months and incorporate them into their daily routine.
We had an awesome field trip to the Broward  Center of Performing Arts. The children loved the show and lunch in the park. They learned all different ways to have fun doing Math. The children also loved walking, and riding there bikes to school. What a great way to exercise and spend time with  friends and family. Red ribbon week was also a huge success. The children learned ways to” Just Say No”.  BAFS which replaced  BAT testing was a success. Your children worked extremely hard to achieve their goals.  Please encourage your child to read daily and take AR tests. These tests  are important to your child’s Reading development. Parents can go to www.ARbookfinder. com to check the AR level of any book.
Please read  and practice multiplication daily. Don’t forget to check out our website. Looking forward to a productive and fun year.
